Donostia - San Sebastian

What a beatutiful clean city.

This visit had twists. We sat on the train not realizing we had arrived at our destination! If we did not get off when we did (and thanks to a prompt from a local) we would have gone back to Irun!

Our accomodation was a 2 star apartment in downtown San Sebastion.  Great location but the concierge was an alcoholic and our bathroom facilities shared.

Whilst waiting to get into our apartment we decided to walk to the Sacred Heart statue. Not ! In setting up the rickety drying rack I (Angela) cut myself. So off to find supplies to dress the wound and an after hours medical facility for a tetanus injection. Finding the after hours took about an hour. It ended up only being two blocks away from our apartment! and we where immediately dealt with.  Was great insisting on only a nurse consult! We learnt alot about the Espana health system  as an American interpreter was  in the wait room. Handy!

Too late for the walk, so  a healthy dose of retail therapy filled the hours until we strolled the waterfront and settled in  for tapas and sangria.
